Adobe announces Creative Suite 4

Today Adobe revealed more details of its imminent Creative Suite 4 software collections, due to become available some time next month (October 2008). As with versions 2 and 3 before it, the version 4 release is Adobe’s opportunity to upgrade all of its major applications in one go. Scroll down for prices.

NEC’s widescreen display is new black (sorry)

NEC has launched the MultiSync 24WMG3, a 24-inch widescreen LCD display modelled in rather tasty-looking shiny black plastic.

Markzware FlightCheck 6.12

Markzware has updated FlightCheck, its flagship print preflighting software, to version 6.12. The update allows you to drag and drop entire folders of QuarkXPress or InDesign files onto the application icon for processing. Other changes include better tolerance of certain types of bad data, and improved support for Adobe Illustrator, QuarkXPress 7 and InDesign CS3 files. QuarkXPress 8 is not yet supported. PDF/X-4 full specs and docs now available

The Ghent PDF Workgroup (GWG) published its specifications for PDF/X-4 on 18 August. This is version 4 of GWG’s internationally recognised standard of PDF generation for professional print and publishing.
